In a world that was moving rapidly towards a globalized capitalist condition, being born in Cairo, Egypt, to a reminiscent class from the socialist era, defines, as well as dictates, my subjects and artistic process; from the initial economical conflict of fighting the desire to own, to an ever heated geopolitical condition that places the political discourse on current affairs above all other discourses, to a powerful religious institution with a massive base of naturally conservative people. In this triangle, I found myself navigating. And in this fashion, my art is only a strategy and a mode of operation in this landscape.

The process of materializing my expression across several media, from intuitive drawings to 3D rendered images and digitally fabricated objects and sculptures, is analogous to my upbringing, when scarcity of resources and tools rapidly turned to abundance of them.
